Chala Restaurant

This is the main restaurant serving buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with live cooking counters preparing specialty dishes. Our top chefs have created multi-cultural cuisine includes Pan-African, Pan-European, and Pan-Asian – with Swahili cuisine every Wednesday and Sunday lunch time.

 

Our rich Salad buffet is a kaleidoscope of fresh ingredients and herbs from the resort’s own vegetable and herbs garden, as well the best of Kenyan fruits and vegetables. As a responsible resort, we take pride in growing our own organic fresh produce, which takes a matter of minutes from the garden to fork! There are various vegetarian dishes always on offer, and guests with any special dietary requirements are also catered for. Just place requests for food allergies and dietary accommodation prior to arrival.

 

The Dessert buffet has a selection of mouthwatering sweet treats, and our selection of tropical fruits are a gastronomical odyssey after a mouthwatering meal.

 

We also offer bush breakfast, bush dinners, sundowner and picnic activities on request. Just book at the Reception.

Bar & Lounge

The Taita Hills Safari Resort & Spa bar and lounge is at the heart of the main building, where cozy cushioned seats around a major round vale-style seating surround a central fireplace. Guest can also seat near the windows or next to the bar, where afternoon tea/coffee and snacks are served at 16:00Hrs.

 

In the evening, as you enjoy your chilled bottle of wine from our vast selection of new world and classical wines, wash down some sumptuous dinner with Kenyan beer or unwind about the day’s safari with a premium whiskey, the lounge with a warm fire going is the ideal place to relax and unwind with friends.

Many a book have been read over a pot of ‘African tea’ and tasty treat in this cozy lounge just next to the World War 1 Museum.

Garden Kitchen

Explore the kitchen garden and learn how we have managed to grow almost all that we consume, organically and ethically, making sure that a majority of what is consumed is fresh.

You can also enjoy a cooking session that includes fishing, picking fresh veggies, cooking ugali or another local dish, descaling the fresh fish which you’ll make under instructions from our chefs and eating at our special garden restaurant!
